The Foundation was formed in 1990 with the remaining proceeds of the James T. Cottrell bequest given to the Nipawin Union Hospital. Bequests and planned giving are an important avaenue towards meeting the needs of the health care services. The Foundation actively works with those individuals who wish to leave a legacy, an enduring gift to help others for years to come.

The Foundation raises funds through active fundraising campaigns for specific equipment projects. We hold two fundraising projects each year: The Panhandler Charity Golf Classic and the Christmas Tree Extravaganza. Ask us how you can participate in these fun events. We also receive donations from generous individuals, organizations and our very supportive business community. The Foundation provides registered charitable receipts for all donations over $20.00.

The Foundation enjoys the opportunity to partner or work with other organizations to build funds for equipment and improved service delivery. In 2014 the Foundation partnered with the Aging Bulls Recreational Hockey team to raise money for a new piece of equipment that would improve health service delivery to women within the North East. They raised $14,050 toward the total cost of $16,000 for a hysteroscope.
